Amazing that it will probably be out around Christmas, wonder what the odds are they'll be a shortage so they can charge 10 times as much.

The release said there is supposed to be 6 million units ready to be shipped on the first day. It's not surprising that they are waiting until November. They are just getting most of the legal stuff taken care of now.
Can't wait for the system.

any smart person would do this.....order at least 2-3 playstation 3's, on the preorder....
put them on a credit card, and put them on ebay... and you'll almost triple your amount in no time..

I would guess it will be 500 or so. The Blu-ray technology will be nice to have in the player. The first Blu-Ray DVD players, which will be out around July, will run $1000, and $1200 respectively. That is the biggest thing driving the cost of the PS3 up. I hope to get a PS3 for the Blu-ray + gaming, and will soon be getting a Toshiba HD-DVD player for the HDDVD's that will be out later this month, or early April.
